Brotherhood

The men of Green Sea Baptist Church normally gather once a month for a brotherhood supper. During this time they enjoy a meal, fellowship, devotion, and discuss various needs or projects that need to be addressed or that may arise in and around our area. They seek out days to help accomplish the needs of the widows and shut-ins in the Green Sea community.

WMU (Women on Missions) / MOM (Moms on Mission)

Women on Mission is a missions organization for women through which women pray for missions, support missions, engage in missions, witness, and participate in the work of the local church.

Matthew 22:37-39

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”

We are called to love by reaching out to people in our community, county, state, nation, and the world through prayer and support of missions.

Moms on Mission are young adult women with a focus on missions.

Whether you are a young adult or senior adult, a homemaker or career professional, single or married, we have a place for you in WMU / MOM.

 Mission Friends

Monthly activities vary:

Mission Friends mission activities include a yearlong preparation for Samaritan’s Purse (OCC) Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Each year we set a goal for the number of boxes to collect and with the help of our church family, we often surpass our goals. The kids pray over the boxes and the lives that will be affected by receiving them, then boxes are delivered to drop off point.

We have a ministry at the Loris Extended Care Center where we visit the residents multiple times a year . We have indoor parades, give gifts, and sing to each individual resident.

Hospice care of SC ministry- Here we prepare crafts, cards, and activities for delivery to their clients.

GSBC Homebound members- We send art work with messages to them through the mail several times a year.

 Prison Bags

For many years GSBC has been preparing prisoner packets to be issued to inmates at Christmas time. The SC Baptist Convention administers this program through the SC Department of Corrections. This project is open to the entire church congregation. Each item packed must be exact or it is removed by the association. The state goal is to place one of these packets in the hands of every inmate in the state of SC at Christmas time. Tracts and scripture can be placed in these packets at the state level.
